Film Festival Cancelled

We are sorry to announce the first annual film festival for the John D. MacArthur Campus Library is cancelled. We did not get enough submissions to hold a festival. We greatly appreciate the time and effort from those of you who did enter.

Please note that we will take film/video submissions on a year round basis for exhibition in the library gallery. So if you just ran out of time or are inspired to create later on, send it to us anyhow. We may exhibit it.

Thanks and we may try again next year!!

Kyle Trowbridge
"Ack, Ack, Ack"

Kyle is exhibiting a series of 11 drawings (acrylic, ink and shellac on paper). His work focuses on children and teens in an attempt to explore the stereotypes of youth and the myths of adolescence.

He is a full time professor at the University of Miami and brings talent, experience and a unique view on life.

Call to Artist: High School Students

The John D. MacArthur Campus Library is seeking submissions from high school art students for future exhibitions. We are offering a unique opportunity for high school students to have their artwork shown along with professional artists in a gallery setting on a university campus.

We are interested in showing a wide variety and styles of work. The work can be painting, sculpture, mixed media, film, animation, etc. There are no size limits or restrictions on theme. The submitted work will be reviewed by the gallery committee. Submitting your work does not guarantee it will be shown. Inappropriate materials will be rejected.

If you do not have enough work, you may submit as a group.

To take advantage of this opportunity, students may submit their work as follows:

1. Enclose photos or jpegs on a cd with at least 6-12 works. All work that is being submitted for exhibition must be represented in the photos/jpegs.
2. Include an image index with title, medium, size and year to correspond with the images on cd. If sending photos, put the information on the back of photo.
3. Include artist information with name, contact numbers, school attending and year of study.

Send all materials to:

John D. MacArthur Campus Library
Florida Atlantic University
5353 Parkside Drive
Jupiter, FL 33458

Attn: Diane Arrieta

For further details call:
561.799.8530

This is an open call and there are no deadlines. We will review submissions as they are received. Exhibits may run from one – three months depending on availability. No monetary compensation or prizes will be offered.
