Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square
51 North Swinton Avenue Delray Beach, FL, 33444
The Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square in Delray Beach, FL is proud to feature South Florida artist, Jen Fisher, in our #SpotlightGallery for the June First Friday Art Walk on Friday, June 1st, an open house for the art galleries in downtown Delray Beach! Join us for light bites and refreshments as well as view our current exhibition, Flora, from 6-9PM.
Influenced from her background in interior design, Jen Fisher’s art has developed from the desire to create on a smaller and more tangible scale. Using similar principles of proportion, contrast and color, her work allows her to organize creative thoughts via an alternate medium, and on a more intuitive level. A Retrospective on Perspective has evolved through Jen’s love of sketching, perspective drawing and her constant desire to explore new materials.

Artist spotlight: Ryan Myers
Ryan Myers is a ceramic
artist living in Madison, Wisconsin [with his studio in Fitchburg].
Artist statement [Excerpted
from http://www.ryanmyersceramics.com/about/]
I
was raised on cartoons and comic books, superheroes and villains. I grew up
around Native American artifacts and American antiques. I learned to appreciate
the intimate qualities of aged objects: the textures of rusty iron and crawling
paint on old furniture, and even the musty smell of ripened books and
magazines. Things that come with embedded narrative and a worn history have
always surrounded me, and therefore, influence me. I am attracted to nostalgia
and drawn to the curious — to something unusual but familiar — to something
that creates a linkage across time.

Artist spotlight: Mothmeister
BIO:
Mothmeister
is the nonstop morphing alter ego of two artistic soulmates
based
in Belgium, home of surrealism. In their eerie Post-Mortem Fairy Tales, they
portray a series of masked, grotesque characters — often accompanied by
startling stuffed animals and a variety of curiosa from their private
collection.
Just
like in the Victorian era, when deceased loved ones were photographed
as
a memento for grieving relatives, Mothmeister immortalizes animals in
a
weird and wonderful fairy-tale world.

ABOUT
THEIR BOOK:
In
addition to the numerous eccentric portraits in our book, Mothmeister also
reveals
a unique look behind the mask: from the duo’s intriguing adventures
in
the world’s most abandoned places to their untamed passion for taxidermy,
masks
and fascinating on-the-road images, exposing their quenchless Wanderlust.

book is available through mothmeister.etsy.com
